Plot

Within the first few seconds, of the amazing Spider-Man it is clearly shown that this version of Peter Parker is not an orphan, but yet a young boy in a playful game of hide and seek with his father. Like most superhero movies the joyess family moments only last for so long when young Parker finds his father’s office distorted. Which ultimately leaves his father and mother, dropping him off to his aunt and uncle, which is a key point in every Spider-Man movie. This family dynamic in the beginning, influences the whole movie with showing the love his father has for science and Peter and how unanswereds question pulls Parker into a quest of finding “Who am I”?

Peter Parker

  The backstory of Andrew Parker changes, the whole course of how Spider-Man become Spider-Man from just a simple coincidence to a conspiracy theory. With Andrew Parker being one of the main scientist in Oscorp working with animal genetic mutations hence at the fact that Peter had a more likely chance of becoming Spider-Man with his fathers ties and connections. This influences Peters obsession with finding his father is shown clearly in a scene where he is seen, putting his glasses on and wearing them daily to feel more closer. Unlike the first movie, this Peter Parker, where is the glasses as some type of costume to constantly be reminded of his father, and even tries to look more like him. Not only does he try to replicate his fathers appearance, but he also is excelling, extremely well in science and asking his aunt and uncle questions about the pass that they are scared to answer. These choices of secrecy only lead to Peter falling into a Oscorp rabbit hole right to the lions den.

Becoming Spider-Man

Throughout the first and second half of the movie with peter testing out his newfound abilities it’s more of him, trying to discover the science behind it then be the superhero we know for him to become. This superhero character arc doesn’t officially starts to take place till the death of uncle Ben. Within this scene, a mugging is taking place where Peter utters the line “ it’s not my problem” to wear unknowingly his uncle Ben is nearby and tries to reprimand the mugger in doing so is killed. This part of the movie influences Peter two take on the role of being some sort of vigilante, and goes on a trolling spree, but it isn’t till the scene on a bridge where he reunites a father and son the way he wishes he could be reunited with his own father, where he fully takes on the identity of being the superhero, known as Spider-Man.
